What is a backer?
A backer is a co-signer on your loan whose income and credit history are used to help you qualify for a FlexFi loan and they pledge to make payments on your loan should you not be able to. This makes it easier for us to provide you with the loan that you need.
Do I need a backer?
If you have a healthy credit profile you may not need a backer. If you’re still working on building a healthy credit history, that’s great — it just means you’ll may need to get a backer to help you qualify for the best FlexFi loan possible!
How do I find a backer?
When searching for a backer, you should look to someone in your family or a close friend that will be willing to co-sign with you. If you think they’d be willing to go bungee jumping with you, they would probably make the ultimate backer!

Over 95% of applications that have a backer are approved! Having a backer drastically increases your chances of being approved. It’s a little more work, but it’s well worth it!
To qualify for a loan you need to:
Be a resident of BC, Alberta, Manitoba, or Ontario
Have employment income
Provide us with a bank statement
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid work permit
